This Kodiak Disc Brake Kit for trailers with 3,500lb capacity axles features both Stainless Steel and Dacromet components. This is a Slip On version that does not include the hubs. The purpose of this kit is to mount the slip over rotors to your existing idler hubs. Idler Hubs are non braking hubs. A Brake Drum would be an example of a braking hub. If you currently have brake drum hubs, they would need to be removed and replaced with idler hubs. We have all of our Slip On kits available with hubs to make this replacement easy. This Dacromet 5 Lug Slip Over rotor accommodates standard 5 on 4 1/2 lug patterns and is intended for use with 14" and greater trailer wheels. The overall diameter of this rotor is to large to fit inside a 13" wheel. You would want to select a Kodiak Integral disc brake kit for 13" wheels.

This Kit combines both Stainless Steel components and dacromet components. Kodiaks Stainless Calipers also include a stainless steel piston, stainless steel backed brake pads, and brass fittings. Every component on this caliper is designed to perform well in marine environments. Mounting Slip Over rotors to your hub will increase your axles overall length by a 1/2". This means that on a tandem axle set up, if only using brakes on one axle, that brake axle would be slightly longer

(1/4" on each side). This does not negatively impact your towing performance.

This Brake Kit Mounts on your Trailer Axles standard 4 Hole Brake Flange and accommodates standard #84 tapered Spindle that measures 1 3/8" x 1 1/6" with a 1.72" Seal Surface.

This Kit Includes (2) Kodiak 225 Stainless Steel Calipers with Stainless Steel Backed Brake Pads, (4) Kodiak Stainless Steel Slide Guide Caliper Bolts, (2) Dacromet Slip On Caliper Mounting Brackets, and (2) Dacromet 5 Lug Slip Over Vented rotors

When Doing This Project:

You may additionally need mounting bolts to bolt your caliper bracket to your trailers brake flange. We have these bolts in zinc and stainless available as add ons to this brake kit. simply click the check box and they will be added to your cart. Other essential items to complete your installation may be 1.98 Accu-Lube Dust Cap, EZ Lube Fits Standard 5 Lug Trailer Hubs. This 1.98 size is the correct size for the standard 5 Lug hub. In addition, these hubs use the 1/2-20 trailer lug studs, which will take all the Trailer Lug Nuts that we offer. As you are installing a new disc brake kit, you will need Heavy Duty Hydraulic Brake Fluid DOT 3 for Trailer Disc Brakes when bleeding your brakes.
