This is a Hot-Dipped Galvanized 8 Lug Idler style trailer hub. The Idler style basically means that this is a non-braking hub. You may be familiar with Brake Drums, which by the name basically visualizes it to have the appearance of a drum. This Idler Hub is intended to be use on trailer axles not using brakes, or on axles that are using the 8 Lug Slip Over style rotor. This Hub mounts to a #42 Spindle on 6,000lb to 7,000lb trailer axles. The Lug Bolt Pattern on this Hub is 8 on 6 1/2. This is an industry standard lug pattern and will mount 8 Lug Kodiak Slip On rotors. This Hub features 1/2"-20 thread lug studs, also an industry standard on trailers. Included in this Bearing and Race Kit are: (1) Inner Bearing 1 3/4" ID 25580, (1) Inner Race Number 25520, (1) Outer Bearing 1 1/4" ID 14125A, (1) Outer Race Number 14276, (1) 2 1/4" ID Grease Seal, (1) 2 1/8" ID Grease Seal *We include both sizes of Grease Seals possible on your spindle for your convenience, you will only use one of the sizes, test fit each grease seal to determine the correct size for your spindle seal surface, discard the one you will not need. When Doing This Project: As you are purchasing a new bearing kit, you will also be needing super high temp Trailer Hub Bearing Grease. Kendalls wheel bearing grease is top of the line and features innovative compounds to reduce heat and increase longevity of your trailer bearings. When remounting your trailer hub on your spindle, sealing and securing the grease cover port is essential to keep grease in, and moisture/water out. If you are using the Posi-Lube system with a grease fitting on the tip of your spindle, the Zinc Plated 2.717 in Accu-Lube Trailer Dust Cap fits most 8 Lug Hubs is the ideal fit for you. If you are needing a pressurized greasing system and do not have a grease fitting on your spindle, try the Stainless Steel Trailer Buddy Protector 2.717 8 Lug Hubs. Finally you may be replacing rusted or rounded out lugs, our Trailer Lug Nuts are available in solid stainless steel for the ultimate longest lasting trailer lug nut.
