This Breakaway Battery Kit will activate your Trailer's Electric Over Hydraulic Disc Brake System in an emergency situation where your trailer has become disconnected from the Tow Vehicle during Trailering. A Breakaway System is required with all Electrically Powered Trailer Brakes, including EOH (Electric Over Hydraulic). A Breakaway Battery needs to be connected to a Breakaway switch, one is included within this kit so you don't need to worry if your trailer doesn't have one already.

This unit installs to the side of your trailer frame and the battery within can be accessed from the side (front) of the box as opposed to the top. There are other Battery Breakaway kits that install in the same way but are accessed from above rather than the side. Depending on your trailer set up and clearances around the installation location, one version will likely be more beneficial to your trailer than the other. This unit is also rechargeable, which is a great feature to have for an Electrically Powered Failsafe. The unit Recharges automatically with Power from the Tow Vehicle, so you don't have to worry about remembering to Charge it, it is always ready to go in case of an Emergency.

This is a complete kit with Breakaway Cable and installation hardware, so you get everything you need to be Road Legal after installing a new EOH Unit to your Trailer. All parts in this kit meet the DoT Requirements for Trailer Brake safety.
